A graphic cover featuring the words "America first" was published in February after Trump's announcement of a wide-reaching immigration ban targeting Muslims.

That image, of a roaring Trump bloodily beheading the nation's greatest symbol of its immigrant masses, was drawn by a man who came to the U.S. as a political refugee.

Edel Rodriguez arrived to the U.S. from Cuba as a child, so for him, the new president's policies have struck an even more personal note, the Washington Postreports.

"I was 9 years old when I came here, so I remember it well, and I remember the feelings and how little kids feel when they are leaving their country,” Rodriguez told the Post. “I remember all that, and so it bothers me a lot that little children are being kept from coming to this country."

Timerepresentative Kerri Chyka confirmed to the Washington Postin an email that the magazine cover is fake.

The U.S. president has been known to lie about that. He has claimed before that he has "the all-time record [of cover photos] in the history of Timemagazine," which is, of course, not true. Former President Richard Nixon, for example, has appeared on Time'scover 55 times.
