【ancient eroticism】
Tesla's eagerly anticipated Model 3 all-electric car is ancient eroticismabout to take its next big step: delivery to the very first customers.
Who happen to be employees.
That's right, those lucky enough to get their hands on and drive off with the $35,000, electric, four-door sedan will be those who helped design and build the groundbreaking car, which travels 215 miles on a single charge and can do zero-to-60 mph in under 6 seconds (by contrast, the Model S can travel 315 miles on a charge and do zero-to-60 in roughly 3 seconds).
On Friday, July 28, at 9 p.m. Pacific Time, just outside the back of Tesla's Fremont, California, plant, an undisclosed number of Tesla employees who pre-ordered a Model 3 will get the first cars to roll off the assembly line -- almost two months after the factory spit out its very first Model 3. It's Tesla CEO Elon Musk's way of thanking them for their work.

In addition to employees, Tesla is sending out invites to an undisclosed number of top referral winners. These are current Tesla owners who have referred new Tesla customers.
Launched in May, the referral program lets Tesla owners give up to five new Tesla buyers access to unlimited Supercharging (which charges the car in minutes as opposed to hours) and a $1,000 credit toward the new Tesla they plan to buy. Interestingly, the program does not cover the Model 3. In addition, those referrers will not be receiving cars on July 28.
During the private event, Musk is expected to take the stage and make some remarks. Until that time, Musk is sure to be tweeting enthusiastically about the Model 3, Space X, and his other endeavors.
