It's safe to say Donald Trump's tweets about International Women's Day didn't get the reception he had hoped for. Like,umayyad eroticism at all.

Early Wednesday morning, Trump took to Twitter to express his "tremendous respect for women" and the "many roles" they serve. In a second follow-up tweet he called on others to join him in "honoring" the critical role of women in the U.S. and around the world.

Almost immediately, responses to Trump's remarks came flooding in. And it's fair to say, they weren't quite the response Trump was hoping for.

Somewhat unsurprisingly, Trump's tweet gave rise to the same joke about Trump's previous comments on women.

In October, the Washington Postreleased audio recorded in 2005 of Trump using obscene language to describe how he interacts with women.

"I did try and fuck her, she was married," Trump told Billy Bush from entertainment show Access Hollywood. "I moved on her like a bitch."

"I better use some Tic Tacs just in case I start kissing her," he said about Days of Our Lives star Arianne Zucker.

"I just start kissing them, it's like a magnet. I don't even wait. And when you're a star they let you do it ... Grab them by the pussy," said Trump.

Tweets about Trump's remarks flooded his @replies seconds after he posted the tweet.
