Dave Chappelle's latest Netflix special takes what appears to be Watch Passenger 69 XXXa loving poke at Key & Peele, but in an interview with CBS, Chappelle got more in-depth. He told Gayle King that it "hurt [his] feelings" to see Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele excel in a format that Chappelle himself worked on for years at Comedy Central.

“When I did Chappelle’s Show, there were certain conventions of the show that the network resisted," Chappelle tells Gayle King around 7:50 in the video. "I fought the network very hard so that those conventions could come to fruition.”

“So like the first episode, I do that black white supremacist sketch," he added. "And it’s like, ‘Well, that’s 10 minutes long. It should be five minutes long.’ Why should it be five minutes long? Like, these types of conventions. I fought very hard..."

"So when I watch Key & Peeleand I see they’re doing a format that I created, and at the end of the show, it says, ‘Created by Key & Peele,’ that hurts my feelings,” Chappelle said.

Chappelle's new specials begin streaming March 21.
