Samsung is Eroticizing Marx, Revolutionizing Freud: Marcuse's Psychoanalytic Turnworking on some new foldable devices, and the internet is pretty sure we're going to see them soon.
That speculation ramped up last night when Samsung officially announced it would be holding its next Unpacked event on Wednesday, July 9. This is the time of year when we expect Samsung to unveil its next round of foldable, and the rumor mill surrounding the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7 has been spinning faster and faster over the past several weeks. And now that rumors are turning into leaks, we're starting to get a clearer picture of what to expect from this year's phones.
So, as we await July 9, here is every major leak surrounding the new Samsung foldables so far.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7 rumors: Release date
For starters, we don't know precisely when Samsung will show off and release these phones. However, history can give us an idea.
Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 last year in an Unpacked livestream in early July. That same July/August window has applied to the past couple of Samsung foldable launches, so logic would dictate that we should expect a similar timeframe for the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7. And with an Unpacked event scheduled for July 9, we think it's a safe bet the phones will make their debut then.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7: Design changes
We actually do have one piece of official information directly from Samsung that relates to these two phones: They will be thinner and lighter than previous models.
Samsung confirmed as much in a recent blog post that said literally nothing else about the devices. However, one recent leak claimed the Z Fold 7 would be 8.9mm thick when folded and just 3.9mm thick when unfolded, which would make it a good deal skinnier than its predecessors. Unfortunately, we don't have any measurement figures for the Z Flip 7 yet.
However, we do have this official teaser photo, which shows an extremely svelte-looking foldable in silhouette.

We do know a little bit about the smaller foldable, though. For one, it's apparently got a new red colorway for customers to choose from. Aside from that, some leaked renders seemingly confirmed that the exterior cover display on the Flip 7 will be slightly bigger than the Flip 6. Those same renders also suggested the Fold 7 will have a hole-punch-style selfie camera on the inner display, rather than the under-display model in the Fold 6. It's unclear based on those renders if this is also true of the Flip 7.
As always, it wouldn't be a surprise if Samsung put more work into making the folding mechanism feel more sturdy and the crease less visible. That's been the company's M.O. ever since getting into the foldable game.
The rumored specs
Not much is known about the specs of these two devices yet. Obviously, we'll have to wait until Samsung does the full announcement to get all the info we want.
Still, there's a little bit for us to chew on. An FCC listing spotted by 91mobiles recently suggested that the Fold 7 would come with the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset under the hood, which would give it processor parity with the Galaxy S25 line, like the Ultra and Edge. We're not sure yet if the Flip 7 also has this same processor.
Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7: The cameras
Aside from the fact that there may be a new hole-punch selfie camera on the Fold 7, the only other tidbit we have about it comes courtesy of the Dutch site Galaxy Club. According to Galaxy Club, the main wide rear lens on the Fold 7 might measure in at 200MP, giving it parity with the S25 Ultra and Edge phones, and a huge upgrade over the 50MP main lens on the Fold 6.
Greater insights into the design, spec, and camera changes for the new Samsung foldables will have to wait until Samsung decides to actually give us something. We'll keep you updated whenever that happens.
