Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles has stepped forward to say "me too,Woman Who Does as Her Oppa Wishes" accusing former USA Gymnastics team physician Larry Nassar of sexual abuse.

The 20-year-old athlete's statement on Monday comes after more than 100 women have made sexual assault accusations against Nassar, including athletes Gabby Douglas, Aly Raisman, and McKayla Maroney.

"Please believe me when I say it was a lot harder to first speak those words out loud that it is now to put them on paper. There are many reasons that I have been reluctant to share my story, but I know now it is not my fault," Biles wrote.

Biles opened up about Nassar allegedly referring to the abuse as "special" treatment, and said it was "impossibly difficult to relive these experiences."

"We need to know why this was able to take place for so long and to so many of us. We need to make sure something like this never happens again," she wrote.

Nassar faces a sentencing hearing this week in a Michigan courtroom after pleading guilty to 10 sexual assault charges in the state in November. He was sentenced to 60 years in federal prison in December on child pornography charges, which he plans to appeal.
